Beta feature added for GeoCAST on Android. Will release for iOS once WebXR is fully allowed.

We released a beta feature for GeoCAST, the fastest No-code way to place WebAR Geospatial content, today. Quick studio primer in the comments. I’m so proud and excited. We’ve been sitting on this for a bit. GPS and our filter work still gives a great experience and makes sense for low light/no light, on open water, in the woods, a snow storm, areas of high reflectivity, large constantly moving crowds… and just about anything that can be problematic for any visual positioning via SLAM. Having GPS fall back is also great for cameraless glasses like the NuEyes Technologies Inc. Pro 3e. However, having the ability to really lock things in place allows for more features like object segmentation (not illustrated here). Our SMART SLAM, when fully available, will do the guess work, it will even update GPS if it acquires a stronger signal to move the CAST appropriately. I can’t wait to see what you create!!! submitted by /u/AugmentedThinker |
For those that liked the other post on this – I’ll be sharing more progress as get the models dialed to the correct size. This project is really is just to see what I can do – the basic starting tutorial is in the comments for you all to mess around. Polycam recommended to scan the room dimensions.

AR and Billboards don’t really make sense as they are too far away or too high most times for the education and safety needed. however…

Conceptual movie previs based on a scan of KP9/WorldCAST office via Polycam. The idea was to see how far/big I can do this. I heavily caution about using outdoors – as in don’t try this in busy areas where you or someone could get hurt. I like exploring possibility with caution. Notice the warning?

Throwback to 2018 when we made our first anchored shared AR experience. We used the phones as the paddles. People at the time thought we augmented a table… I’m like that would defeat the whole purpose of playing a game anywhere lol.

Augmenting augmented reality? Yeap. Watch the end of the vid. In the first part, I scanned KP9 HQ with Polycam and exported to WorldCAST/ShowCAST, placed team member names and other labels around the office – this is the first try result. Why? Just for fun and to put ideas onto reality.

It’s all about the experience (utility and entertainment). Tech is just the vehicle. Create, share, and enjoy.
I create AR everyday for testing, experiments, tutorials, and samples to the point that just making a personalized cast just because I could and send it in an email was just normal. You forget that many have not experienced AR in some ways … le… Augmented Reality & /u/AugmentedThinker
3.5 years ago we did a WebAR demo with the Nordic Semiconductor Thingy 2. Today I was cleaning deprecated stuff off our repository and thought I’d throw it on the NuEyes Technologies Inc. Pro 3e for kicks to see if it would work. Old AF but still fired up.
