There seems to be some good evidence that VR goggles have a negative impact on eye health, given that user’s eyes spend long periods of time focused on the screen which is very close to their eyes. AR goggles however, are a hybrid with some things shown on the screen very close to the eyes which is laid over the real world where users eyes will focus naturally (if I understand correctly).
Does anybody have any insight into whether this alleviates the problems with VR goggles and strain from eye focus, or maybe it makes it worse by forcing the eye to simultaneously focus both on something close and far away?
