AR future

Just thinking what if finally McDonalds will get back at Burger King for their infinite trolling over the last years, by implementing 1000s of life long anchored augmented hamburgers on Burger King’s premises.

Can you start building apps for Facebook smart glasses right now?

Was wondering if anyone has any idea? Is their DevTookKit public, or are they using standard Android ones? Would love to start experimenting with some apps that I can have ready to go when they release the smart glasses next year. 🙂 submitted b… Augmented Reality & /u/copacabano

Had this crazy idea for a while. Finally implemented it for a hackathon but now I’m skeptical about it. What do you guys think?

Campus-wide AR Project, what to use?

My idea is to hide a lot of „Easter eggs“ around my university campus, that people can see using an AR app.

The best thing would be to not use qr codes or anything of that sort, as it can easily be torn off. I was wondering if it’s feasible to use certain statues as triggers, or maybe a specific building or a table that has a certain marking to it.

The most important thing is for everything to be shared with all the students on campus. Ideally, one would just have to download an app and go around campus looking for the Easter eggs.

How can I do that? I did a bit of research on the Facebook spark AR, but i got the impression that it’s for one thing at a time, I can’t really add 20-30 things at once and make them instantly available to the other students.

I can program my own app if needed, but I would rather avoid that.

Augmented Reality Scalable 3D Terrain with Shadow and 360

I’ve created an Augmented Reality 3D Terrain model that casts a shadow, and can be moved or scaled by touch built using C#, .NET, Xamarin and ARKit on Visual Studio for Mac
