I badly want to be able to use high field of vision AR glasses to be able to do things like play laser tag and LARP.
I really can’t overemphasize how much I want this.
And honestly, there are so many other things I want to be able to do with AR that my quality of life will legit skyrocket once a company breaks through this threshold. I want to use my Quill paintings to decorate my living room; I want to design virtual costumes onto my own body in front of a full-length mirror and see other people walking around in theirs; I want to be able to sit next to my sister on the couch from 3000 miles away and actually be able to look at her face unconfined by a rectangle (even if it’s a little clunked up by her also wearing a pair of smartglasses).
I’m starting to research this heavily, and I keep seeing promising-looking AR companies like Magic Leap that have made promises and then pulled way back and resigned themselves to „enterprise solutions“. It makes me so frustrated, I’m legit starting to take courses. I doubt I’ll get anywhere even remotely near the cutting edge before it’s reached, but dammit I WANT THIS.

Had an idea for using AR in the Acting profession, enabling social distancing. Is it feasible?
Had an idea, but no knowledge in the field of AR.
Actors are in separate, but equal physical areas. Same cameras, lighting, necessary props.
AR is used to transmit realtime imagery of the other actors to each other’s field of vision, so they can interact. Cameras record.
The footage of the performances are merged together, so it appears they actors are all in the same room, close to each other, but social distancing and hygiene is perfectly maintained.
Thanks in advance.
