Geoplacement of objects inside the AR World in Unity.

Hi! I’m working on a project, a part of which needs the functionality where objects are placed at GPS coordinates and I can view them in the ARCamera if I’m at that location. I’ve gone at it in a few ways using Mapbox, ARcore and ARFoundation with no success yet. The one tutorial I came across had deprecated libraries and I couldn’t find an alternative. It would be really helpful if anyone could guide me in the right direction!

Augmented/Mixed Reality jobs

After playing around with Augmented Reality for a while, I am ready to make a career change and go all in. My question is what type of job is best for someone who doesn’t come from a traditional computer career background?

My degree is in Biology but my current job is designing puzzles and games for TV gameshows here in Los Angeles, CA. I have had my Hololens for 2 years and have done udemy C# and Unity classes as well as other tutorials. If it matters, I also am also on the waiting list for the H2.

I have program managed several traditional mobile apps that I came up but paid someone else to build them. So I have much more experience managing apps and the process than actual coding work. I know the best way to learn something is to do it so I am going to start to build my own AR app ideas. But if I was working on a team with others would help me even more. Being able to change this into my full time job where I live and breath it every day would be the best way to accelerate my skills.

I know that AR/MR is still in its infancy so what are actual jobs are available? Even though I am currently more familiar with headsets I’m willing to work in mobile too. Would an AR program manager be an easier job to get than an entrance level programmer with my experience?

Thanks for your thoughts and feedback.

AR league of legends puzzle game.

Hey Guys. I’ve been working in this AR mobile game based on League of Legends characters. Feel free to let me know if I’m onto something or how I could better it. It’s also my pitch to hopefully peak Riot Forge’s interest. Spent about 3 weeks putting it together.
