Hi AR enthusiasts, I just came across this news. Can anyone please tell me what is Visual Positioning System? How will it be used by developers? What are the advantages of having this? https://www.roadtovr.com/niantic-launch-lightship-visual-positioni… Augmented Reality & /u/PrateekMalhotra
I love the feature in the Lens Studio AR tool that lets me test my Snap lenses on video uploads. So I was able to ‚invite‘ the best thinkable couple to demonstrate my new "duo dress", an interactive shared piece of AR clothing which changes color from blue to red when you’re getting close together.

AR Hand gesture recognition
Hi! I am currently looking into implementing an ar app in unity in which should be able to use hand gesture for moving things eg for my bachelorthesis in uni. Are there sdks you can recommend? Is manomotion SDK capable of it? Also does someone know if… Augmented Reality & /u/kabomboExe
C# Scripts issues
Hey guys! I’m taking my first steps into creating and attaching Scripts to my GameObjects. I’ve created a Cube which I’m trying to give a Rotation behavior to. The thing is, when I click on my Script it takes me to C# and, when I am trying to use words… Augmented Reality & /u/jessevnr

LiDAR scanning and localisation
Maybe a daft question, but if I LiDAR scan some buildings is it possible for AR content that I apply to them in something like Unity going to be able to be localised properly on devices without LiDAR? I have done point cloud recognition techniques in the past but can’t see how this could work without the users device having a LiDAR sensor?

Suggestions for Client Project
Hello all, I’m working on an AR social media filter for a sport team using their mascot, and they asked if I could get something comparable working on their arena’s big display using their cameras. With my limited experience I know I could probably build something using a program like Spark AR, but I’m hoping to find something a bit more stable and reliable for their media team. Ideally, they’d be able to work it in somehow on their switcher system without requiring too much power while idle, then be able to point a camera at one person and have the mascot and animations lock in and only play on them, hopefully without getting to confused by the people around them. Would anyone have any suggestions for the types of programs I should be looking at for something like this, and where I might begin my research?

AR in Our Future
https://forms.gle/nDzwdoqPqTb8VcA67
Hey all, I am conducting research for an end-of-semester Signature assignment in my CE English 2015 class and could use some help. The project requires some source of primary research, and an online internet survey qualifies. I’d really appreciate it if you could take some time out of your day to fill out the five questions in the linked survey. The research question I am aiming to answer is as follows:
Could wearable Augmented Reality technology potentially become a replacement for the smartphone?
Sorry I don’t have any kind of incentive to offer, but I really appreciate the help!
