AR is often divided between consumer and enterprise endpoints. But what about the space between? We’re talking about the lesser-known ‘B2B2C’ opportunity. We unpack 3 examples of this principle in action.

What’s the best way to bring 3D Models into AR experience?
The quality of the 3D models used in AR experiences is directly proportional to Vertex Count/Polygons/Textures etc.
My app needs a whole bunch of 3D Models, packaging these models in the app isn’t feasible. App bundle size grows significantly, and trying to reduce vertex count/polygon can happen only till a certain level after which AR Experience quality drops significantly. 3D objects start to lose their realistic look. So this approach isn’t scalable. While it can handle few models, I cannot possibly scale the number of objects I can include.
If I don’t package 3D objects with the app, what are my options? Are there any cloud services that folks have used to stream the 3D models over the network? Such service solves another problem – I don’t have to update my app each time I need to include new models. If I could simply add new objects in the service catalog, they are made available/visible inside my app (wherver it runs), and I can provide option to download them on-demand.
Appreciate any thoughts/comments/pointers on this topic.

AR Smart Glasses Make Their Way To The Veterinary Office
AR technology isn’t helping just human patients. Vet CT, a veterinary technology (“VetTech”) based out of Cambridge, United Kingdom, has partnered with the Pennard Vet Clinic on a trial program demonstrating the practical use-cases of AR technology in the veterinary office. The story was first reported by Business Weekly earlier this week. Using a pair […]
