Noob Questions

I’ve got a pretty noob question.

i’ve figured out how to create USDZ and other AR formats but my end goal is to embed code into a website that would allow visitors on iphone / android to place a piece of furniture within their in there space.

I’ve had limited success with https://www.vectary.com/

Im at a ELI5 level of understanding.

Thanks in advance!

How to "reload" Vuforia, without reloading an application in Unity?

I’m working on mobile app with Unity + Vuforia. We have an issue, when the app suddenly looses it’s ability to track certain targets. After app is restarted, it all goes back to normal. I want to implement a button, for reloading Vuforia, but can’t find a way to achieve it.

So, what do I have to do, to reload Vuforia, as if the app was closed and opened again?

Desktop AR is a technique that enables laptop and desktop computers to produce XR effect without needing a phone or a headset

Hi guys,
we are working on a new kind of AR system called Desktop AR and a unity plug-in, Holo-SDK. I found that not many knows what Desktop AR is yet.

So I hope it is okay to share it with you here:

Desktop AR is a technique that enables laptop and desktop computers to produce XR effect without needing a phone or a headset. It creates the illusion of 3D objects floating in front of a screen by rendering red-blue 3D images according to a user’s viewing position.

What’s cool about it?

  • You get the holographic experience and seeing things floating in front of the screen.
  • Users do not need to have AR glasses or headset, which tends to be pricy. Desktop AR utilizes hardware that everyone already has and red-blue glasses that are available online for a low price. This also means that more potential users for your Desktop AR applications.
  • More immersive than mobile AR. Mobile AR’s experience is limited by small display size and lack of stereoscopic. Unlike Desktop AR and AR glasses, Mobile AR enhances the realism of a video that a user sees on a device, rather than enhancing the viewing experience of the user directly.
