Adobe Aero & Unity

Hi I’m new here & I would like to ask, what are the most popular softwares used to make Augmented Reality contents? Are Adobe Aero popular? Or people usually use Unity’s software?

My First App

Hello AR Redditors,

I am hoping to start learning AR with a view towards creating an app (most likely for android as I can’t be any means afford an iPhone). I’d like to ask if anyone would have any advice on how to proceed and how I could meet my goals.

I hoping to design a basic interactive museum app that will work with my phone’s camera. The idea would simply be that upon pointing one’s camera at an object a token would appear which can then be tapped on to give more information (via an audio recording).

Could anyone advise me on what programs I should look into? (I’ve been reading around and unity + vuforia seem a safe bet?)

Also will I have to learn a lot of code?

I appreciate that some of my questions might overlap with those previously asked, but thanks for any help anyone can give 🙂

Looking for participants to trial AR prototypes from BBC R&D

Hello – Alex from BBC Research & Development here. We’re looking for volunteers to try out a range of small AR prototypes we’ve been working on, with experiences ranging from a virtual festival to a health data visualiser.

They’re all quite short and contained within a single app, and we’re testing them to probe the public service value of various AR use cases.

You can sign up to be a tester here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/taster/pilots/bbc-ar

Apologies – iOS only for now, but if we take any of the ideas forward they’ll be cross-platform.
