[D] Open-source Android App to show your products using Augmented Reality
Hey guys, I’m open-sourcing my code for an Android app that enables you to visualize 3d models of furniture in AR. Build using ARCore Sceneform and Firebase. Hope you’ll find it useful.

Suggested Learning Platform and Toolkit
Hello everyone!
Project Goal: Design a wooden playroom to install in my house in CAD, and then display it in the room (at scale), with my Hololens 2 and a IOS Device.
I’m looking for some feedback on 2 topics.
1) What Tools to use for this Project Goal? (Unity, CAD Software, MRTK?)
My experience is to start in Solidworks, is this acceptable or optimal?
2) Any suggested learning platforms to learn this tool? (I’ve done some research, looking for an unbiased opinion).
Background Experience: I have previous Solidworks CAD design experience from mechanical engineering degree in college and patenting a basic product design. However I am starting fairly fresh on having any coding language (some blueprints on Unreal Engine). I’ve spent my career in project management and field work.
Thanks for the feedback!

AR goggle effect on eye health vs VR goggle
There seems to be some good evidence that VR goggles have a negative impact on eye health, given that user’s eyes spend long periods of time focused on the screen which is very close to their eyes. AR goggles however, are a hybrid with some things shown on the screen very close to the eyes which is laid over the real world where users eyes will focus naturally (if I understand correctly).
Does anybody have any insight into whether this alleviates the problems with VR goggles and strain from eye focus, or maybe it makes it worse by forcing the eye to simultaneously focus both on something close and far away?
