Thought I’d share the images from my recent tutorials that I’ve been posting for PrintCAST on our WorldCAST Platform to show possibility – spark ideas.

Looking to dive in the deep end.

So I don’t know exactly how this technology works, but I want to learn more about hand tracking on the AR device.

So my question is what AR device should I purchase to introduce me to AR? What language should I learn to begin animation? I use Unreal for other projects, but I know nothing of the technology available on the consumer market. What does Reddit recommend?

My concept for a AR/VR/MR ring controller. Perfect for travel and kind of bridges the gap between motion based controllers and hand-tracking

Theory-question from a beginner about Tracking

Hey guys,

im working on a homework about AR and there is so much information in books etc.. some books i got are from 2010 so this is not state of the art i guess. I red a lot about tracking and i just wanted to ask you if i got it correctly.

So my iPhone for example uses Optical Tracking(?) it can be use this in two different ways:

marker-based: the camera spots an highlighted spot and insert an virtual graphic exactly on this spot (sorry for the wording, i dont know better words for this in english)

and

marker-less: my device uses SLAM in combination with LiDAR to generate a map from my environment and then a smartphone app can put virtual objects next to me for example ? Like the Reality Composer App from Apple

is this nearly correct or am i wrong? So i need just a basic explanation of Marker-Based and Marker-Less Tracking only for AR.

Thank you guys

I may be addicted to doing this! Send help! JK – but I am having a blast for some reason. Pushed the textures on this one. Tutorial in the comments. Have fun! I have another one that has content outside my window as well that I’ll post later.

AR for non planar surfaces

I have 3D modeled a car hood and i would like to use that custom 3D model for a ‚Pre-Viz‘ on the actual car its intended to go on the only problem i have ran into is that the hood surface is Non-planar so ‚Sticking‘ it to the car in AR and having it remain in a static position while free roaming around the vehicle is hard. (using iPhone for AR btw and i would prefer that if possible)

i have only tried using ready made AR solutions like iOS apps but they all seem to fall short in this use case. I was wondering if anyone had any possible solutions, i wouldnt mind having to come up with my own solution using AR studios but if possible would like to avoid as i dont have a ton of experience in that.

Am experiencing Merge Cube difficulties…

I haven’t touched my merge cube in a few years and now I can’t find anything AR, all the things I can find are A: not games (I’m looking for games) B: are VR only. (I don’t have the VR.)

I made a (very) rough mock up of a pair of AR/mixed reality glasses with a ring controller that connects and charges via the headset/glasses. What do you think?
