Affordable ARCore Device? (Redmi Note 11)
Hello community! At the moment I’m just ahead of my master thesis in Human-Computer Interaction. I want to develop an AR application and therefore I want to buy a ARCore (and deep AI) ready smartphone. I don’t wan’t to spend too much so I spotted the Redmi Note 11. It’s ARCore compatible and it’s like 170€. But I don’t think the CPU can really handle deep AI? Has anyone made experience with deep AI and the same or a weaker device?
An alternate would be the Realme 9 pro plus, but it’s double the price…
Thanks for your advices in advance!

Looking for ALL the help..
Hello! I am posting and praying that it’s in the right area and for the right people! Sorry ahead of time if it’s not.. I am working on innovations for a niche community of readers and would love to implement AR into the mix.
The idea: I manage a few authors and would love to have past and future covers to be AR when looking through a camera or app. (Eventually postcards of characters or scenes in the book that could be AR as well.)
The info: As I do my dive into the community and find freelancers, they tell me that I need 3D models first; that they need the animations already; or that they just can’t do it. I have the still artwork and covers pdfs
The question: Where do I start? Am I doing this process wrong? Or is it impossible? I don’t want the AR images to be low graphic like the N64; but I don’t need things extreme as well. As an example, there is a scene where a woman is looking out a lighthouse window and it’s storming, ideally when looking at the image, I’d love for the waves to be moving, lightning flashing and it raining. Another example; there is a NSFW scene in a glow worm cave; I don’t need any craving moving, just the cave itself trickling with different glowing lights?

AR Vacancy at ASML
Good with Unity? Want to work at ASML? Our team has an open vacancy for AR/VR Developer.
ASML is a leading semiconductor industry company and works on typical AR/VR industry use cases (Remote Support, Training, Work Instructions, Design Reviews) in combination with our software partners, but also on inspirational demo’s of future possibilities. As developer you would participate in both!
Last vacancy I posted there was good interest from this community. There was some criticism on the official HR job description, which admittedly is a bit dry 😉 Let me know if you have any questions.

Hallmarks of a successful WebAR campaign: Strong Call to Action (CTA) | "What’s in it for me?" | Frequency
I’ve literally created 1000’s of interactive prints over the last decade and while many were just one-offs – the ones that had the most success (even in the dark days of having to Download a QR reader just to DL another app … shudders … ) had a strong CTA with a reason to want to do it – and the content was changed out often enough for return visits.
Metaio (one of the best AR platforms that ever was – until KP9 – haha) trusted me enough to give webinars on their behalf for selling AR to agencies – just take a watch/listen and apply these simple steps to your campaigns – regardless of what platform you may be using that’s not WorldCAST. This is me giving back where I can and I know this works.

There are simply some things that don’t need AR – don’t force it – as in don’t just put a 3D model on your print and expect massive adoption/return. If you watch my stuff – you know you can be pretty flipping robust these days (simple works too btw – I just do eye candy to get attention – LOOK AT MEEEEEE – haha).
Follow me for more tips and tricks on how you can be the most successful with your campaigns.
