Help with 3-D Indoor Navigation using Augmented Reality.
Hello Redditors!
I'm a fairly new lurker in this sub, and it struck me to ask the opinion of the masses on my up and coming final year project.
The (working) title is 3-D Indoor Navigation using Augmented Reality which mainly does two things:
Illustrate a 3-D model of a building in our campus.
Upon keying the POI (point of interest), it will highlight the ideal path to be taken from the current location, marked by a mini human, to the POI.
User has the option to use an AR navigation with the camera, and project arrows overlayed onto reality. Exactly like Google Maps.
In this early phase of the paper, I still have to look for sources and other studies done, but none are accurate enough to be easily perused. If there are other sources that could aid me in my project, that would be greatly appreciated. I've read papers and plan to pursue platforms like Vuforia and Unreal Engine 4. But I need a proper outlet to learn and dig deeper for my thesis, and to-be application.
Important to note here is that I'm a novice. I have the perseverance and intention to sell and implement this to my uni by the end of next semester, hence I'm looking forward to learning the best and pragmatic methods to progress further into this. Plus, I'm a one man army. I do have another colleague dealing with an AR project, but he too is a beginner.
So, help away! :) (please I need it)
