possible fix for ar glasses battery problem
I was thinking about whether ar glasses would be feasiible. Typically people cite several reasons for why a sleek looking pair of glasses couldnt realistically do AR. Battery life is a key issue because you can only squeeze so much in a pair of glasses. The focals by north have only 700 mah for example.
but what matters isnt really battery life but battery life to charge time ratio. If you could charge your phone in 5 seconds you probably wouldnt care as much that it only lasts 5 hours.
the reality is we already have the tech for ultrafast charge times. Here is a graphene enhanced powerbank that charges 5000mah in only 17 minutes. https://www.amazon.com/Graphene-Charging-Portable-Lightweight-Nintendo/dp/B08DC5WZR5
scaling down to glasses with 700 mah batteries and the charge would only take 2.5 minutes.
sure they might have shitty battery but does it matter as much if it charges in 150 seconds? You could give it a full 0-100% charge while getting dressed and recharge it at college/work/friends houses.
so what do you think. Does ultrafast charging essentially solve the battery issue with augmented reality glasses?
