Let me preface this by saying that I have no experience with AR, and have never used AR glasses in my life. So if this answer is obviously yes, or obviously no, please forgive my ignorance.
That said, I have an idea for a niche application (aviation related), where the glasses would need to be able to block out specific regions of the field of view. The blocked out region would change on the fly (based on the user turning their head), so the glasses would need to be able to change the blocked out region at a reasonable refresh rate.
Is this basic functionality within the range of any modern AR glasses?
Edit: To clarify, I'm not worried about the software side of things. I should be able to pretty easily identify the regions that I need to block out. My question is more about whether or not the AR glasses are able to block out the regions that I identify.
