Who owns the augmented public space?
Hello all!
I'm a design researcher with an inclination towards the future and lately I’ve been interested in thinking about augmented reality in the public space and particularly the question: who owns the augmented public space?
Will there exist privately owned augmented public spaces? Will it be hyper-personalised and everyone will experience the city in a different way?
I'm interested to explore how can augmented reality be used as a community building tool by appropriating these corporate ad spaces and using it to make communication in the public realm open and participatory. So citizens can reclaim their community’s voice in the city.
I have a couple of questions for this community:
- What is your personal view on this? And are there any resources or references you have found interesting about this?
- From a technical point of view, what tools/software/apps can I use to allow people to take photos of multiple ads and then use them as trigger to upload a message/artwork/etc. ?
Thank you in advance and I'm sorry if my questions are confusing!
