Help needed!
Hello there.
First, I’m new about developing AR (I just generated an app throught Unity using Vuforia to switch a book cover to another book cover) and english is not my native language.
I’m planning to make a mobile (Android and iOS) AR app that should work only in unique environements (for example the bedroom in my house, the kitchen in my mom’s house and that bakery across this street) and add some 3D object that must appear and stay anchored in a pre-given position (for example, a painting between those specific windows or o plant on the floor next to that oven etc.).
Now, from my little knowledge, I thought I could do this by making a LIDAR scanning of those evironements, maybe using an iPhone 12 Pro (borrowed of course :D), import it to Unity, add 3D objects where I want them to stay anchored, and use an image target (a QR or whatever) to start the AR view on a smartphone.
Do you think is this possible? I spent quite some time to search tutorials, indications or hints, but I guess my goal is a little specific.
Thank you for reading this 🙂

Professionals who Use AR – Survey
I just took a survey about AR in the workplace. It took about 15 minutes and they gave me a $70 Amazon gift card.
I get $20 for each person I refer, so I figured I’d share it with the community.
Here’s a link if you are interested. It’s pretty painless: https://www.expertsmarketresearch.com/refer?refId=e167d20b-1b3c-4b9b-8fd5-673b287fe37f

Indoor navigation with AR
Hey there, I’m doing pre-project research on indoor navigation. I never worked in this field so looking for some tips, articles, other research papers, basically any source. Theoretical and practical.
I already looked for and got some info, but asking if anyone has any experience to help guide me towards my goals.
The project, at best, would be a library navigation system. User would interact using a phone camera, input his position and the app, using AR should guide him to his book.
Thank you all, cheers.

Computer vision in AR?
I am an AI engineer interested in pivoting my career into AR. My ideal job would be applying my computer vision skills to AR problems. For example, if you point a device at an engine it can tell you what all the components are (computer vision) and tel… Augmented Reality & /u/SincerusMaximum
For AR, Can Unity AR track a moving golf club?
Hello, I was thinking of a school project where I would analyze the player putt swings. Can Unity ARkit/ArCore track a golf put swing and ball accurately enough to see the collision point and club angles? Thinking of having the mobile camera on a… Augmented Reality & /u/brysonyumul
Couldn’t resist. Made the Bernie meme in AR using Adobe Aero. Did this SUPER quick…I’ll add the link in the comments so you can try it on your device as well 😂
